Le Tour de Mont Pleasant 2015 June 12th – 13th
What do oil wells in Isabella County and the Eiffel Tower have in common? Nothing, but that all changed in 2009 once Mount Pleasant held the 1st annual le Tour de Mont Pleasant. The Mt. Pleasant Area Chamber of Commerce plans to bring a little piece of France to Isabella County as cyclists and visitors from far and wide are invited to come and experience le Tour de Mont Pleasant!
Le Tour de Mont Pleasant has turned into one of the most remarkable events in central Michigan. The event brings professional cyclists, crowds of cheering spectators, and a little taste of Paris to the Mt. Pleasant community. Events include competitive races, great food, exhibitors, family fun ride, book signings, prizes, children’s races and much more!
The main event for le Tour de Mont Pleasant is the pro cycling race series. This race ties together the entire county as a challenging 120 mile race course. The course takes riders through Shepherd, Winn, Blanchard, Beal City, Lake Isabella and Weidman just to name a few! Riders experience all of Isabella County and continue through Rosebush to finish this one of a kind race back in Mt. Pleasant.
While there are many professional cyclists there, the event also holds races for amateur cyclists of all skill levels. Children under 10 can race for free, and there is also a family community bike race. Each year brings something new to le Tour de Mont Pleasant, so be sure to listen for YOUR opportunity to get involved!
Come check it out and see what our little slice of Paris, here in the sweet center of Michigan has to offer! It’s a great experience for cyclists and non-cyclists alike.
New this winter: Le Frost Cross, a fat tire bike race through Mt. Pleasant! Le Frost Cross will take place on December 12, 2015 and will incorporate grass, pavement, woodland path, and gravel terrain. Watch these winter racers or register yourself by clicking here.
